As of Oct. 15, 2007, the Westminster Police Department, through Ameritek ID, is offering civilian (Applicant) Live Scan and Ink Roll finger printing services at the City Hall at the Mall. Ink Roll fingerprint services will no longer be offered at WPD. All requests for Applicant fingerprinting will be referred to the City Hall at the Mall for assistance.
Fingerprint services will be available from Monday through Friday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM and on Saturday from 10:00AM to 1:00PM.

The towing regulations throughout California changed to favor the motoring public in order to prevent hazardous situations for the vehicle owner or driver. The following are the rules that regulate the towing companies as it relates to Private Property Impounds (PPI).
The law now requires a written general towing authorization agreement between the private property owner or their designated agent and the towing company used for private property impounds.
The Westminster Police Department proudly presents an innovative program to improve police/community relations.
The program is called Citizen Academy. The Citizen Academy seeks to improve understanding and communication between the police and the community. Participants have the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of the problems, policies and laws that officers deal with everyday.
We would like to announce the first Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Explorer Post Program in OrangeCounty. This program was developed in partnership with the Cities of Westminster, Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. For many years exploring has provided guidance and direction to our youth. It is also an invaluable service to our community. We are excited about this new addition to exploring and are currently seeking young men and women between the ages of 14 and 20 to join.
